Candidates roll up their sleeves

Animal Justice Party Senate Candidate, Mackenzie Severns, travelled to Cairns to speak with locals about environmental and animal issues and help out with restoration efforts. Joined by Susanne Bayly, Leichhardt candidate, Mackenzie attended a tree planting day run by Kuranda EnviroCare.

A total of 100 trees of 42 different species were planted by the group on Saturday morning to increase viable habitat for the critically endangered Kuranda tree frog & the vulnerable Southern Cassowary.

Mackenzie and Susanne also attended a Macropod Rescue course with The Agile Project - Wildlife Rescue & learnt so much about what it takes to be a wildlife rescuer and carer.
