Angela Lowery for Blair
Angela Lowery is currently studying a double major of public relations and politics and policy studies at Deakin. With strong convictions and an unwavering commitment to the protection of animals and nature, Angela regularly participates in animal rights and environmental activism to increase public awareness. She is running as a candidate to give animals and the planet a voice in Parliament. For Angela, the most pressing issue is climate change and what it will mean for young people’s futures if the Australian Government continues to do so little to address it. She wants to add her voice to so many who are calling for urgent action, especially after the release of the latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). “Given the increasing frequency of destructive fires and floods, we cannot afford any more environmental destruction.”
What sets Angela apart from candidates from other political parties is her willingness to tackle animal agriculture as a major cause of environmental degradation and dangerous climate change. Angela will also endeavour to push the government to take immediate and substantial action to introduce clearer food labelling laws regarding the production of meat and dairy products so that consumers can make informed choices. Angela strives to live sustainably and kindly. She makes a lot of her own household products and cultivates a huge veggie garden, which is also home to lots of bees. She wants to see more federal leadership to make it easier for Australians to choose sustainable options and be informed about the impact of consumer culture.
Donate to get Angela elected!
Contesting elections is a costly exercise - it's a $2000 fee per candidate to get on the ballot paper and then there are advertising and printing costs! We estimate it will cost us a minimum of $5k to cover candidate fees, advertising and printing for Angela's campaign. We'd love to double or triple that to give her the best chance of being elected to represent the Animal Justice Party.
Can you chip in to cover some of the costs?
